Matthew Lee Wallis Aka Shrewd. Matt was born and raised in Lincoln UK and has had a passion for the chunky underground sounds from an early age. Being influenced from the likes of Inland Knights and DIY back in the day, Matt's visions for music were already set in motion. Matt now 27 has been djing for over 10 years and producing for nearly 6. This all started back in the day with Matt being one of the original founders off the legendary Shrewd Sound System. From here Matt's love for the music playing out at free parties and clubs became even stronger! Matt knew then the only way forward would be to start creating his own unique brand off sounds and styles! So armed with not much more than ideas and a passion, Matt set about learning the skills and techniques in which he needed to create these ideas and turn them into the styles of house music he produces to this day. With Matt's first release on Myna Music ‘The Words ep' tucked safely under his belt, with great success and support from the likes of Lawnchair Generals, Inland Knights, Mark Farina, East Coast Boogiemen, The Littlemen, and Da Sunlounge to say a few, He can now move on to new projects.

And with no time to waste Matt now has future release's on various different labels including Amenti, Drop Music, Nightshift, Guesthouse, Kolour Rec, Housetown Rec, Blacksoul Music, Blue Iguana Music, Flat & Round Records, Lingo recordings and now Flavor recordings his own new label with Jay west.

Matt has also teamed up with other various artists to form the likes of ‘Pushing Boundaries' aka himself and Jaywest, ‘Distant Funk' aka himself and Matt Bandy and now a new partnership has evolved with the likes of himself and Ion so be sure to watch this space!

These future releases all show Matt's diverse ability to produce various different forms and styles of house music, but all with that special added ‘Shrewd' sound! When tried and tested on dance floors across the globe by some of the industries best you know his sounds going to be getting bigger and better! So be sure to keep an eye out for any future ‘Shrewd' releases because this boys seriously bringing on the heat!
